Elizabeth Watson is a specialist in corporate governance, director recruitment and board effectiveness. She is the President of Watson Advisors Inc., a boutique governance and recruitment firm providing services across all sectors.

Elizabeth practiced law for 20 years. In 2001, she was recruited by the Province of British Columbia to provide recruitment and governance services in relation to the Province's more than 250 government entities. In this Deputy Minister role, she instituted recruitment and governance practices that have been used as a blueprint for many Canadian and international jurisdictions.

In 2005, Elizabeth established her own consulting practice. She has become a much sought after governance and recruitment advisor to business, public sector and not-for-profit entities.

As a frequent speaker and published author on corporate governance, Elizabeth is the author of British Columbia's Best Practice Governance and Disclosure Guidelines and the CICA publication 20 Questions Directors Should Ask About Crown Corporation Governance, as well as articles on governance published in the Ivey Business Journal.

Elizabeth is involved in numerous community activities. She serves as a director of the Institute of Corporate Directors (National and BC Chapter), the BC Cancer Foundation, and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. She is a member of the Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Advisory Board and a past director of Women in the Lead Inc. She is a director (past chair) of Choice School for Gifted Children. In 2003, Elizabeth received H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee Award for public service in Canada. She was selected as one of Business in Vancouver's 2007 Influential Women in Business.

Elizabeth holds an LLB from the University of British Columbia and completed executive education in the areas of governance and finance at Harvard University and Ivey Business School.
