
Ming Pilz
Ming is a Consultant at WATSON who works with clients across sectors on governance and leadership engagements, including Board and Management leader development, evaluations and succession planning, Board facilitation and learning, strategy development support, Board structure, and organizational leadership structure work.
Ming brings several years of experience advising clients on governance and leadership matters. She also draws on her pre-consulting experience, with over a decade of helping organizations navigate people, leadership and culture issues. She has been an HR leader in a range of sectors and cultures, including a start-up, a Crown Corporation, and multi-national companies.
Clients appreciate how she combines the ability to apply a strategic lens that considers the big picture while giving attention to the needs of people. This shows when navigating sensitive processes and dynamics together with clients, in facilitation, and in crafting and debriefing feedback.
As a Canadian and German with Taiwanese roots, Ming is passionate about continuous learning. She leverages her appreciative curiosity and fluency in multiple cultures to create impact for clients.
Ming holds a German law degree, is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), a Certified Associate Coach with the Justice Institute of BC and a Certified Organizational Coach with UBC. She enjoys bringing her experience to the community by volunteering as a Board Director at the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC and as a coach.
When not at WATSON, you may find Ming in the stunning Vancouver outdoors or practicing and learning languages, trying interesting food, and running.
