Stacey Martin

Stacey Martin is a Governance Consultant WATSON, supporting clients through all aspects of WATSON’s governance advisory work, including board, director and CEO evaluations, comprehensive governance reviews, policy / process development and governance education sessions.

Prior to joining WATSON, Stacey trained and qualified as a corporate lawyer in the UK at an international law firm that exposed her to a broad range of transactions and company and commercial work, including private equity investments, acquisitions, disposals and group reorganizations. Stacey advised on a number of UK and international transactions and acted for some the largest private equity houses in the UK market. Stacey went on to support the Chief Governance Officer and Board Counsel at The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). During her time at RBS, Stacey provided professional governance advice to senior executives and board members on a variety of matters, including codes of practice, Companies Act rules, directors’ responsibilities/conflicts and regulatory requirements. She also supported RBS in the delivery of its new target operating model and corporate governance structure driven by the UK government’s legislative agenda to improve financial stability.

Stacey relocated to Vancouver from Edinburgh, Scotland in the summer of 2018. Stacey has a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy and Business Law from the University of Strathclyde and a LLB from the University of Glasgow. Stacey is a member of the Law Society of Scotland, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a qualified Chartered Company Secretary.
