Rachel Carswell

Rachel Carswell is an Analyst at WATSON, providing report writing, editing and research support to the WATSON team while supporting all aspects of the project life cycle including project management and logistics, analysis and reporting. During her time at WATSON she has worked with a range of organizations including not-for-profits, public and private companies, and Crown corporations and has assisted with a range of governance reviews and diagnostics, board and director evaluations, and governance manual and governance framework re-designs.

Prior to joining WATSON, Rachel trained and qualified as a Chartered Corporate Secretary and Governance Professional in the U.K. at an international investment fund management firm where she managed a portfolio of clients across a number of business sectors, including several publicly listed companies on a variety of international stock exchanges that exposed her to a broad range of transactional and commercial work, including acquisitions, disposals, capital raises and corporate structural reorganizations. Here she was a key contact for all client stakeholders and coordinated all Board meetings, shareholder meetings, Board and Chair evaluations, legal and regulatory compliance responses and other governance activities as required.

Most recently, Rachel worked with a global tier one investment bank providing a broad range of corporate secretarial, governance and legal entity management services to both Private and Public side business and advising on matters including Company Law, committee development, Conflicts of Interest and Brexit.

Rachel has an LL.B. from the University of Manchester and a MSc. in Management and Corporate Governance from Ulster University. Rachel is also an Associate member of the Chartered Governance Institute and past Branch Council representative for the Northern Ireland Branch. Rachel relocated to Vancouver from Belfast, Ireland in the summer of 2020.
