David Kandestin is a Legal Governance Analyst at WATSON Inc. David’s role involves deep legal research and analysis for some of WATSON’s most complex files. David’s experience in law and business allows him to provide an excellent legal perspective balanced with deep understanding of what clients need to achieve their purpose.
Prior to joining WATSON, David was an associate at DuMoulin Black, a boutique corporate and securities law firm in Vancouver. David represented public companies across several industries, and advised boards on continuous disclosure obligations, governance practices, mergers and acquisitions and corporate reorganizations. David also has experience working in corporate banking.
David holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Laws all from McGill University. He has a keen interest in intellectual property law, having written and published several articles on copyright and patent theory and practice. He speaks French, has travelled to over 30 countries, and has lived in Montreal, Calgary, Paris, and Auckland. David is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
